JAMBALAYA

Namaste people! I am so excited about this post.It has got nothing to do with fashion,its something delicious..yummy.Its a recipe for a dish its called SHRIMP JAMBALAYA...read it and have some fun with it...You're going to need the following.....
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
1 tablespoon of butter or margarine
1/2 pound smoked sausage,sliced
1 large onion,chopped
1 large green bell pepper, seeded,chopped
2 garlic cloves,finely chopped
2 large tomatoes, finely chopped,juice reserved,or 1 16-ounce can tomatoes
2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or 1 dried basil
1/8 teaspoon salt(optional)
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon allspice
21/2 cups chicken broth or water
11/2 cups long grain or brown rice(par-boiled)
2 pounds shrimp,peeled,deveined
3 tablespoons chopped parsley
Cooked shrimps,fresh basil leaves

   In 5-quart saucepot or Dutch oven,heat oil and butter.Saute sausage until edges are browned.Add onion,green pepper and garlic; saute about 5minutes until tender.Stir in tomatoes (with juice),bay leaves,thyme,basil,salt(if desired),chili powder,pepper, and allspice; mix well,stir in broth; bring mixture to boil.Stir in rice and fresh shrimps; return to boil.Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 25minutes or until rice is tender.Stir in parsley during 5 minutes of cooking time.Remove bay leaves.Garnish with cooked shrimp and basil leaves,if desired. There you have  Shrimp Jambalaya...
